How To Change Settings On 2012 F150 Backup Camera
I was lamentable when i got my Prestige that it had no rear camera, not sure why it comes with the P+, so it was my goal to put one in eventually.
I was able to discover a used camera and module of eBay for $200 shipped off an s5.
I sourced the wiring harness from Kafatec. http://world wide web.kufatec.com/index.php?mai...t8a9g68a7ckg92
All the data I institute online said that the car needed to accept rear parking sensors for the rear camera to function.
To my suprise after installing it and coding the auto, the photographic camera works perfectly!
Took me a total of 4 hours to do this Mod since information technology was the first time taking apart the interior.
Encephalon part number i used: 8T0 907 441, Camera part: 5N0 827 566 C
Bran bracket Part:8K0907392A, N01508210(nut), N0901486 (commodities), N90168604(clip)
Camera, Brain and wiring harness:
Installing OEM rear camera in the trunk. you take to remove the plate and plate holder to get the camera in. The hardest part about the trunk is putting the safetly latch cable back onto the cover.
I used DavidB8's writeup on taking the body lid apart: http://world wide web.audienthusiasts.com/Proje...yTriangle.html
wiring it upward, running the wires is fairly simple, all the wires are exposed and you lot only zip tie them to the existing harness going back into the trunk.
wiring the power to the fuse box, It pretty peachy how the fuse holders come apart and you merely plug in the pin from the harness. Only upshot i had was where the factory backup fuse goes (Due east #6) at that place was no power on the contrary leg then i added another power tap. The additional wire tap i used(000 979 023E).
DavidB8's writeup on how to remove the fuse panel and insert the wires: http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Proje...ssoryPlug.html
The CAN passenger vehicle wires and video wires you take to sew together to the front end of the car. There is a High and Low Can wire that you wire into the CAN bus plug in the right side fuse panel.
In that location are simply the 2 wires you need to run to the front of the car along the correct door sill, the CAN and the MMI video signal. Yous demand to remove the MMI unit from the eye of the dash, and so you lot demand 2 radio removal tools.
I used DavidB8'due south guide to remove the glovebox http://audienthusiasts.com/Project_GBCooler.html
Look it works! Finally have a fill-in photographic camera in this car. The lines movement when the wheel turns also.
:
The only coding I did was :
Address nineteen, you lot select in the install list, the rear backup camera. (its a checklist with vagcom, no scrap setting)
Address 5F, byte 07-fleck 1, to turn the camera function on in the MMI.
The backup camera module was left at the s5 settings, i couldnt decifer out the instructions from kafatec, so i left information technology, i believe information technology is Address 6C coding 1001008.
